Ionia County man charged with six felonies in child sexual conduct case
IONIA COUNTY, MI – A man in Ionia County is charged with six felonies following a criminal investigation into the sexual conduct of a child.
Daniel Campbell, 65, of Saranac, was indicted on Monday, December 14, on two counts of 2nd degree criminal sexual conduct, three counts of possession of pedophile material and one count of using a computer to commit a crime. crime.
He is being held in the Ionia County Jail on $ 150,000 bond, according to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office.
Following a criminal sexual conduct complaint filed earlier the same day – involving a child unrelated to the suspect – deputies and department detectives executed a search warrant on December 11 at a Wyandotte Court residence in the village of Saranac.
Several electronic items suspected of containing pedophile material were seized and the suspect was questioned and arrested that evening, MPs said.
Due to Campbell’s frequent contact with neighborhood children nearby and at his home, the Ionia County Sheriff’s Office said there were fears that other victims were involved.
